Core Values
- Quality education goes hand-in-hand with economic growth, improved public health and safer communities. We aim to create a positive perspective of the value of educating girls. We engage children, parents and educators through community-based activities and through knowledge and skills building initiatives to help women be the drivers of their own and their children’s destinies.
- On-the-ground perspectives of those most vulnerable to poverty, illiteracy and discrimination are often not heard. We seek to raise awareness of the humanitarian issues affecting girls and women in Sri Lanka. We serve as platforms for advocacy and improved international relations by providing meaningful opportunities to get involved in the global fight to educate girls and empower women.
- Economically and environmentally sustainable and efficient operations allow us to ensure that every dollar goes to good use. Through effective strategic planning, social entrepreneurship and a partnership model, we dedicate 100% of all public donations to our programs in Sri Lanka.
- Ethics and transparency are at the core of our vision. Through ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our programs and finances, we hold ourselves accountable to the rigorous expectations of our partners, beneficiaries and the communities that we serve.
Our values are embodied in four pillars that are tightly aligned with the United Nations Millennium Development Goals for reducing poverty, improving access to education and promoting gender equality and environmental sustainability.
